Hi Everyone!

I haven't been here in a while.....I've been busy, sick, etc.
I started feeling bad before Thanksgiving and I'm just now getting over it. Mazzy's been sick too, her cough has sounded terrible and her nose was yucky too. She's finally getting better. She's also getting her 2 year molars, which has a hand in her being so cranky.

I got my hair cut over the weekend. I love it, it feels so much better and looks healthier too. I was tired of the long hair, never fixed it, just scrunched it and usually ended up in a pony tail. The only thing is, it's too short to scrunch (i don't like it) so I have to get up earlier to dry my hair, and use the flat iron on it. When I go back to have it trimmed, I may go even shorter.
Eric highlighted my hair last night at my Mom's. OH MY!! He didn't know what he was doing, it took FOREVER! When I thought he was done, he told me he still hadn't pulled hair through on the sides. AHHHHH!! I'm not sure if he will do it again. He says he can now that he knows what to do, but I'm not sure. It turned out pretty good, I was trying to cover my darker roots, so it wouldn't be as noticable. Not sure if I succeeded or not, I can't really see it the way other people do. Normally my Mom would do my hair, but she can't stand that long to pull my hair through the cap and then put the stuff on. So I got Eric to do it.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. Well maybe 2 things. We got Mazzy's scooter that Santa is bringing to her. And I bought something tonight that will probably go to Valerie C. (my nephew's fiance). I drew her name. I haven't decided if I want to keep it or not. Isn't that awful?
I am hoping for a new couch before Christmas. We went to Grande on friday and looked. We found one that we both loved. It's a LazyBoy reclining sofa. It's nice. It would make my living room look so much neater. The one we have now is old, dirty, and has an ugly blue jean looking slip cover on it. It might look nice if it actually fit the couch and it wasn't faded. Well I think I've went on and on about too many different things, I need to go to bed so I can get up early enough to dry & straighten my hair!! Good Night.

TGIF

I am so glad it's friday. Even though I only worked 2 days this week, I was so ready for Friday. Being off work sure spoils me, and I don't want to go back.
I hope this weekend goes by slow. I just want to relax....that is after I attend a baby shower tomorrow. I love showers though, they are so much fun.
Mazzy was such a good kid today, I didn't have to fuss at her for anything except to sit down at Applebees, but other than that, she was a wonderful well behaved kid. So proud of her.
I hope next weekend gets here soon, my mother-in-law and I are taking Mazzy to Dollywood before it gets too cold.

2008 ELECTION......DID YOU VOTE???

Well it's that time again. Time for us Americans to decide who our next President will be. I hope everyone chooses the right person for this job. I voted early, thank goodness, I hear there will be thousands at the poles tomorrow! I sure don't want to stand in line all day. I didn't have to wait in line at all. I went after work one day and no one was there. The paper ballots were so easy, I would like for that to be the primary way to vote. So who are you voting for?? Have you decided yet?? I sure hope so, tomorrow is THE DAY! I normally do not talk about politics, I don't like arguing over that type of thing. I keep my opinions to myself most of the time. I hope you are voting for the person that you truly feel will help our country and will do a good job. I wasn't going to talk about who I voted for, but I can't help it, I feel like I need to let everyone know how I feel.
I voted for John McCain. reason #1 - from the very beginning I knew he was the one, I knew that I liked him and I liked what he has to say. #2 - he is against abortions, which to me is murdering your own child.
For someone to try and make partial birth abortions legal, is a sick person in my book. Abortion is just a more "proper" word for MURDER! How could you not call abortion murder when you *abort* something with a beating heart!! This topic is THE #1 reason I DID NOT and WOULD NOT vote for Barak Obama. There are other reasons too, but this one really sends chills down my spine. I just don't understand it.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone reading this, but blogging is all about expressing yourself and your opinions right? So anyone who is also against abortions, but votes for Obama......well, that's just wrong.
He also says that he will not take our guns away, I don't believe that at all. I just don't believe he could call himself a democrat, yet still say he's NOT against guns. Guns do not kill people, people kill people!!
And does he really need to yell when he gives a speech?? Who wants to listen to someone yelling at us all the time?
Well I guess I've expressed myself enough. Now some of you may be saying, what the heck is she thinking posting something like this? Well, because I wanted to.
It's that time of the month, and you girls know how we get! Emotional, Irritable, etc.... have a good night and VOTE tomorrow!!! Put the right person in office.

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we had Dinner at Eric's Mom's. Lasagna, Salad, and garlic bread. YUM!!
Before that, we carved pumpkins. It was fun. Mazzy wanted to help, but didn't make much progress. She kept wanting to do other things. Finally we gave her a pumpkin and markers. So her pumpkin is colored instead of carved. It is cute though.
I took pictures of the 2 that Eric and I did, but didn't get one of Mazzy's.

Rascal Flatts & Taylor Swift 10-24-08

Last night I went to Knoxville to see Taylor Swift & Rascal Flatts. It was a great show!! I have pictures, but I haven't had a chance to put them on my computer yet. I'll post them as soon as I do. We had a great time. We took my friend, Chrissy's little girl who is 5. She loves Taylor Swift. Poor thing, she got so worn out, she slept through Rascal Flatts. So cute.
I had been wanting to see Rascal Flatts for a long time, it was so awesome! They really put on a good show. Taylor was good too. I was actually surprised how good she was. She slings her hair a lot though. :-)

High School Reunion.....missed it

Saturday was my 10 year reunion. I had been excited to go and see how everyone has changed. BUT, we all took a nap and didn't get up till close to 7. I didn't have enough time to take a shower and get ready, take Mazzy to my Mom's and be in Bristol by 7pm. So Eric and I decided to just take Mazzy to my Mom's and just the two of us go eat. I hate that I slept and didn't go. Now I have to wait 10 more years to do it again. I regret not going. Ahh too bad, it's over now. Maybe some people will post some pictures.

TV shows

Well I missed "The Office" and I got to watch the last part of "ER". We were out and by the time we got home and got Mazzy in bed it was late.
I can't believe that Pratt died on "ER". I cried my eyes out, it was a very sad show. I know this is it's last season, so maybe he had another job to do somewhere else. I love "ER" it is my Thursday night show at 10pm.
I can't wait to see what happens next week.

Mine?...let's see... I also like to watch "The Office". It's so stupid it's funny and I love it. I also watch "The Hills", "Extreme Make-over Home Edition", "John & Kate Plus 8", "America's Got Talent". "ER"! I love ER.This is IF I have time to watch regular TV. I am usually watching "Barbie in the Nutcracker" or something Mazzy wants to watch. I will be watching "The Office" that is IF I am home and not watching Barbie!! :-)

My Little Princess

Here are a couple pictures of Mazzy in her black/floral leotard that my neice gave her. She came out of her room today wearing this leotard with the shiny pink shoes, purple headband and red bead necklace. She said "Look at me Mommy, I like a Princess"
I couldn't help but laugh. Poor thing, she looks like a rug rat instead of a princess. But I agreed with her and told her she was a beautiful princess. :-)

just bored

I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm bored and too tired to sleep. Have you ever felt that way? I have been trying to clean all evening. I even took Mazzy to Mammaw Pam's for a while so I could clean up the garage. WOW, we have a lot of "JUNK"!
Most of it just needs to be tossed to the curb. I cleaned up the house and the garage till I just couldn't do it anymore. My legs & hips are killing me. I haven't had pain in my hips & legs in a while. It just started bothering me again recently.
Well it's getting late, almost 12am. I guess I better go get in bed. Mazzy will have me up early in the morning.

Mazzy's doing GREAT!!

Mazzy is doing so good going to the potty. She goes on her own now at home and yells at me to get her paper! It's so cute. She even tells me when we are out that she needs to go. Wednesday we went to the mall. We were in JCPenney and she said "Mommy I wanna pee at WalMart"
I guess since that's the only public place she's ever peed, she wanted to go there to do it. She's so darn cute. She finally started peeing at Deanie's house too, she lets her wear big girl panties during the day sometimes. Now we've got to work on doing #2 in the potty. I'm so proud of her, she is growing up so fast.
I'm posting some pictures of her in her "princess dress". She says she looks like a princess, which she does!!

SUGARLAND

Well, the Sugarland concert last night was so much fun. It was even better than the one in Knoxville. They had Ashton Shepherd open up for them. She was pretty good too. She actually really sounded like she does on the radio. We left Piney Flats around 4:15 yesterday and got there at around 5:30 or so. We stopped at TGIFridays to eat, the food was awesome, the drinks were good too. :-) I very rarely drink anything, but when you are out with "THE GIRLS" you gotta have one, or two, or three. I went with my best friend Chrissy and 3 of her friends. I guess they are sorta my friends now too. I've been to two concerts with Lori now. the other 2 were Brandy and Stephanie. We had an awesome time and I can't wait for Rascal Flatts in October. Chrissy is taking Haylie with her to see Taylor Swift. Haylie is her 5 year old daughter. She's such a cutie and Mazzy just loves her.
Mazzy did really good yesterday. My mother-in-law, Pam kept her while I was gone. Eric had his class reunion dinner so he wasn't home either. She peed in the potty all afternoon and never once peed in her pull-up. She even peed when they went out to eat. She's getting so good at this, it scares me. I'm afraid she's just gonna stop doing it. But this morning she got up and told me she had to go, and she did!! She peed and said " I want my M&M"
We'll see how it goes throughout the day today.
I forgot my camera in the car last night, so I have no photos to post of the concert. DARN IT!! But I do have a couple videos on my cell, I don't really know how they turned out.

My Weekend(s)

My weekend was pretty good. Saturday we were up and out of the house by 10am. That is very unusual for us. Sunday wasn't like that though, we didn't get ready and go anywhere till after 1:00. My weekends usually consist of being lazy!! Especially if Eric is working, Mazzy and I stay in our PJ's most of the day. It's just fun.
Mazzy actually peed in the potty 5 times on Saturday, she did so good. But Sunday was a different story, she didn't use it at all. I'm curious to see how she does at Deanies this week.

I'm excited about my upcoming weekend. Friday night is a home football game at Abingdon High School. Eric's Class of 1998 is having a Pizza dinner before the game. Then Saturday is his actual reunion, they are going to a golf club in Abingdon for dinner. Unfortunately I will not be attending that with him. I had made plans months before to go with a friend to see Sugarland in Asheville, NC. I'm excited, going places with her is always fun. We've been friends for about 24 years now. She's a concert freak and a Kenny Chesney MEGA FAN!!! She goes to every concert of his that she can. I've been to one Kenny concert with her in Columbia, SC. We are also going to see Rascal Flatts in October!! I've wanted to see them in concert for a while. Getting away for a girl's night out is much needed for the both of us. We are still young with children and it's just a break from the everyday normal life. We gotta have fun now and then!!

POTTY TIME!

Well she finally did it! Mazzy peed in the potty last night. I was so excited I almost cried. I sat in the floor with her while she sat on her potty chair. We made animal sounds to each other, when all of a sudden I heard it pouring out of her and she looked at me so surprised. I starting clapping and screaming "YOU DID IT, YOU DID IT, YAY!!!!!" she started laughing and Eric came running in to see what all the excitement was about. She got so excited she would throw her arm up in the air and yell "I POTTY, YAY" She's just the cutest.
So then we had to take her to PetsMart to see the animals. Eric told her earlier that if she peed in her potty, we would take her to see the animals. So after that, here we are, off to Kingsport. That place is like a mini zoo for her, she loves watching the kittens play and the hamsters on their wheels.
I just hope now she won't expect to go to PetsMart everytime she uses the potty! I'm going to have to find something that I can give her that excites her. Her babysitter uses M&M's and I just don't think Mazzy will get excited enough to get an M&M. I've gotta find something else that will make her want to use the potty for that reward. Any suggestions??? I already give her gum and suckers so that wouldn't be any special treat for her. If you think of something great, let me know.
I hope she uses the potty at Deanie's today, that would be wonderful. I hope she catches her in time and has her do #2!!! We'll see how she does over the weekend.

YAY Me!!

Well after looking at Kristi's blog and getting interested, I have decided to start my own. It's fun and you learn a lot about someone reading these things. I hope you enjoy mine although I can not promise that I will be here everyday. I'm not sure how often I'll post, but I will try my hardest.
